MARY FRANCES MILES FERGUSON 

    COURTLAND - A funeral service for Mrs. Mary Frances Miles Ferguson was 
conducted Sunday in Sunbeam Baptist church at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. John W. 
Williams, assisted by Rev. Thomas Caulkins and the Rev. E.C. Thornton Jr. 
Burial was in Newsoms Cemetery with McDowell Funeral Home, Boykins, in charge.

   Pallbearers were Thomas Cogsdale, Leslie Porter, Braxton Bunn, James Porter, 
Charles Arrington and P.C. Crumpler.

   Mrs. Ferguson, 75, died Saturday morning in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

   A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of Henry Thomas and Mrs. 
Josephine Kitchen Miles and the widow of Samuel Carlton Ferguson.

   She was a member of Sunbeam Baptist Church.

   She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Olive Whitley of Murfreesboro, N.C., 
and Mrs. Victoria Story of Franklin; a son, Edison Ferguson of Courtland; six 
sisters, Mrs. Tommie Miles, Mrs. Clarice Cogsdale, and Mrs. Mrs. Viola Bunn of 
Newsoms; Mrs. Susie Coleman of Courtland, Mrs. Josephine Cogsdale of Apopka, 
Fla., and Mrs. Lorena Porter of Boykins; a brother, H. Kent Miles of Courtland; 
nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
