A native of Southampton County, he was the son of Richard* and Mrs. Alice Kitchen Ferguson. He was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pearl Harris Ferguson, three daughters, Misses Carolyn, Frances and Cynthia Ferguson of Franklin; one son, Robert Henry Ferguson of Tampa, Fla.; three brothers, Tazwell Ferguson of Littleton and Hugh and Robert Ferguson of Newsoms; six sisters, Mrs. Lee Moore and Mrs. Floyd Ferguson of Portsmouth, Mrs. Louise Fuller of Courtland, Mrs. Ronnie Holland and Mrs. Gus Holland of Holland and Mrs. Geneva Thorpe of Newsoms; and a granddaughter. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by Rev. Ira D. Hudgins pastor of Franklin Baptist Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Robert Butler, Emmett Bedford, Marvin Porter, Elmo Eason, W.C. Woodard, Norris Bly and John I. Underwood. *I've seen his father as Richard and Richmond.
