ROY HERMAN FERGUSON 

Roy Herman Ferguson, Sr. age 80 of Newsoms died Thursday [sic; Tuesday], in 
Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin.  A native of Southampton County, he 
was the husband of Mrs. N. Vergie Bailey Ferguson.  He was a retired farmer 
and member of the Newsoms Baptist Church.  Other survivors are a daughter, 
Mrs. Jo Anne Jones of Chester; three sons, R.H. Ferguson, Jr,. Billy 
Ferguson, and Fred E. Ferguson all of Newsoms; a sister, Eula Griffin of 
Suffolk, eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.  A funeral service 
will be held Thursday, at 11 A.M. in the McDowell Funeral Home, Boykins. 
Burial will be in the Newsoms Cemetery.
