All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JOSEPH RICHARD FORREST Joseph Richard Forrest, 80, a farmer of the Courtland-Sebrell community, died at the residence on Sunday night, April 26, after several years of failing health. A member of the Sebrell Methodist Church, he was the son of the late John and Elmira Joyner Forrest of this county. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nellie Edwards Forrest of Courtland; two sons, Joseph R. Forrest, Jr., and Marvin Forrest, both of Courtland; four daughters, Mrs. Evie Flowers of Courtland, Mrs. Linwood Morris of Sedley, Mrs. Robert Bunch of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. George Burgess of Franklin; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Sallie Joyner of Wakefield. Funeral services were held in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with Rev. Otis L. Gilliam and L.M. Kanipe officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland, the pallbearers being Fred Edwards, Johnny Joyner, Jacob Randlette, Luther Edwards, Mills Laine, Linwood Morris, A.B. Nicholson and Stuart Nicholson.
