NELLIE EDWARDS FORREST

   COURTLAND - A funeral service for Mrs. Nellie Edwards Forrest, 88, 
of Rt. 2, Courtland, was held Monday October 29, 1973, at 2:30 p.m. in 
Sebrell United Methodist Church by the Rev. Roger Coffey and the Rev. 
James Luck.  Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Courtland.  Pallbearers 
were Calvin Burgess, George Burgess, Jr., J.R. Forrest, Ralph Flowers, 
James Flowers and Stuart Nicholson.  Mrs. Forrest died Saturday morning 
in Southampton Memorial Hospital.  A lifetime resident of the area, she 
was the daughter of Junius and Mrs. Virgilia Darden Edwards, and the 
widow of Joseph R. Forrest, Sr.  She was a member of Sebrell United 
Methodist Church.  Mrs. Forrest had resided with her daughter, Mrs. G.G. 
Burgess, Sr. the past few years.  Surviving are four daughters Mrs. G.G. 
Burgess, Sr. of Franklin, Mrs. Eula Morris and Mrs. Evie Flowers of 
Courtland and Mrs. Robert Bunch of Seattle, Wash.; one son Marvin Forrest 
of Courtland; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie J. Babb of Virginia Beach and Mrs. 
Nora Lassiter of Conway, N.C.; one brother, Mills Edwards of Norfolk; 14 
grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

lifetime resident of the area, d. 27 Oct 1973, Franklin, age 88, 
interred in Riverside Cemetery (Section II, Plot 1*), Courtland, 29 Oct 1973,
