All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WILLIE FRANCIS GODWIN FORREST SEDLEY - A funeral service for Mrs. Willie Francis Godwin Forrest was conducted Monday at 4:30 p.m. in Grace Memorial Methodist Church, Sedley by the Rev. Robert Henley. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery. W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home was in charge. Pallbearers were B.J. Hotchkiss, Elton McClenny, McKinnley Drewry, Frank Hayner, Allen Bell and H.J. Hubbard. Mrs. Forrest, 73, died early Saturday morning in Southampton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was the widow of Edward D. Forrest and the daughter of George W. and Mrs. Gillie Ann Carter Godwin. A native of Mt. Airy, N.C., she had made her home in the community for the past forty years. She was a member of Grace Memorial Methodist Church and the Golden Age Group of Sedley. Surviving are six sons John E. Forrest and Garland H. Forrest of Alexandria, Kenneth M. Forrest of Charlottesville, Roy H. Forrest of Newport News, Edward D. Forrest of Chesapeake and Sgt. William G. Forrest of the United States Army stationed in Germany; two daughters, Mrs. George Cluverius Jr. of Yorktown and Mrs. William E. Jones of Sedley and thirteen grandchildren.
