Faircloth, formerly of Sedley, this county, but more recently a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Service stationed near Norfolk, lost his life by drowning May 23, 1927. He was a son of the late Junius F. Faircloth and Mrs. Saran C. Faircloth. In March, 1925, he married Miss Ethel Anna Beaton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Beaton of the Sedley community. Besides his young wife and mother, he is survived by two brothers, Patrick and Carl Faircloth of Atlanta, and the following sisters: Mrs. T.G. Burke of Atlanta and Misses Juliette, Eunice, Sarah Frances and Nelda Faircloth of Raleigh. He was born and reared in Sedley, attending school there and in 1917 joined the Sedley Friends Church. He was of a kindly disposition, cheerful and generous in character and numbered many friends. He had enlisted in the government service three times; first in the Navy, next in the Aviation corps and at the time of his death was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard. The funeral held in Sedley, with interment in the family plot in Rosemont Cemetery, was largely attended and was conducted by the Pastor of the Friends Church, Rev. Nathan Pickett. The body bearers were: Stafford Beaton, Joseph Owen, Samuel Wade, John Hedgepeth, Russell Owen and G.S. Cornwell. There was a profusion of floral offerings from friends and shipmates. Frederick W.
