HOPE STEPHENSON FAIRCLOTH

   The people of Ivor and the community were greatly shocked Monday when 
learning of the passing of Mrs. Hope S. Faircloth, wife of J.T. Faircloth 
and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Stephenson of Berlin.

   Mrs. Faircloth was interested in all school activities, an enthusiastic 
member of the P.T.A., a helpful member of the Philathea Class, a communicant 
of the Ivor Baptist Church and a loving mother and wife.

   Besides her husband, J.T. Faircloth, she leaves four children, John T. 
Faircloth, Jr., of V.P.I., Annie Bettie, Allen and an infant son; her 
parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Stephenson, six brothers and two sisters.

   The funeral, which was largely attended, was conducted at the home 
Wednesday afternoon by her pastor, the Rev. George Kissinger, III.  Burial 
was in Ivor cemetery, pallbearers being her brothers, Richard, Charles, Roy, 
Bill, Sam and John B. Stephenson.

   A quartet composed of Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. Joyner, A.R. Gardner and G.C. 
Niblett sang "Sometime We’ll Understand," "Have Thine Own Way Lord" and 
"Abide With Me."  The Philathea Class acted as honorary pallbearers.
