She was the widow of Joseph Fortune and daughter of the late Charles A. and Augusta Raymond, of New York. She was the aunt of Mrs. Dennis L. Britt, [sic; Brett] of Franklin. She was a member of the Orcutt Avenue Baptist church, Newport News. She is survived by three nieces and a nephew, and a number of great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at the graveside Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, by the Rev. Herman Stevens, former pastor of the Orcutt Avenue Baptist Church, and the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, and Rev. Donald E. Dunlap, pastor and assistant pastor of the Franklin Baptist Church. Pallbearers were T.C. Holland, Jr., Herbert Edwards, Kemper Daughtrey, Jr., Vaughan Beale, William H. Howell, Jr., and L.E. Edwards. Mamie (RAYMOND; Mrs. Joseph M.)
