He was a farmer. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Doris Avent Francis, one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Spruill of Como, N.C., two sons, Berkley M. Francis and Kenneth W. Francis both of Courtland; two brothers, Nathan Francis of Capron and Jesse Francis of Boykins; one sister, Mrs. Lottie Vick of Boykins; one grandson, Dennis O. Spruill. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 3:00 p.m. in the McDowell Funeral Home, Boykins. Interment will be in Capron Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** HERBERT MACK FRANCIS BOYKINS - A funeral service for Herbert Mack Francis, 65, of Boykins was held Friday at 3 p.m. in the McDowell Funeral Home, by the Rev. Paul T. Worrell. Burial was in the Capron Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ira Barham, David Banty, Pat Griffin, Richard Ricks, Maynard Banty, Roy Jarratt, J. Walter Bryant and Alfred R. Gurganous Jr. A native of Northampton Co., N.C., he was the husband of Mrs. Doris Avent Francis and a son of Jesse Godwin and Mrs. Dennie Johnson Francis. He was a farmer and member of Capron Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, surviving are one daughter Mrs. Shirley Spruill of Como, N.C., two sons Berkley M. Francis and Kenneth W. Francis both of Courtland; two brother, Nathan Francis of Capron and Jesse Francis of Boykins; one sister, Mrs. Lottie Vick of Boykins, and one grandson Dennis O. Spruill of Como, N.C.
