All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WILLIAM BARHAM FRANCIS FRANKLIN - A funeral service for William Barham Francis, 63, was held at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Holland-Rideout Funeral Chapel by the Revs. Richard Peery and Arthur L. Harris. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park. Pallbearers were: Joe Joyner, Tom Hawkins, Jack Story, Rufus Johnson, Mike Henson, Roger Butler, Marvin Butler, Delton Eure and Carroll Bowles. Honorary pallbearers were: Dewitt Clark, J.K. Wyatt and Vernie Gray, Jr. Francis died Friday in his home. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was the husband of Audrey Marie Dodd Francis. He had retired from Union Camp Corp. as a shipping department supervisor after 42 years. Francis was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and Moose Lodge 1573 and a charter member of Blackwater Hunt Club. He was a Army veteran of World War II. Other survivors include his mother, Edith Francis Presson and his stepfather, Willie H. Presson of Franklin; a daughter, Sylvia Marie Rindhart of Lawton, Okla.; a son, Larry William Francis of Columbia, S.C.; three sisters, Maude F. Presson of Carrsville, Marjorie Hunnings of Jackson, N.C. and Mary P. Turner of Franklin; a brother, Calvin C. Francis of Chesapeake; and two grandchildren.
