All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ DANIEL HARRISON GIBSON The death of Daniel Harrison Gibson occurred Wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fannie Cook, in Second Avenue. Mr. Gibson had but recently moved to Franklin from Opelika, Ala., in October and had lived to his 74th year when taken by death. He is survived by two brothers, L.A. Gibson, Rentz, Ga., and R.C. Gibson, Flovilla, Ga., five sisters, Mrs. H.Y. Grant, Mrs. George Grant, Mrs. Thomas, all of Rentz, Ga., Mrs. N.F. Goggan, Tifton, Ga., and Mrs. Fannie Goggan, Birmingham, Ala., two daughters, Mrs. S.D. Jones, Atlanta, and Mrs. Fannie Cooke, of Frankin, two sons, C.D. Gibson, Richmond, and H.J. Gibson, Franklin, in addition to a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held yesterday morning at 10 o'clock at the home of J.A. Cooke, in High Street, Rev. R.D. Stephenson officiating. The body was forwarded to Forsyth, Ga., for interment. Pallbearers were: Oscar Bridges, Gordon Bridges, Hubert Bridges, J.F. Cooke, J.A. Cooke and Mr. Williams. His wife Manfrey Donia "Donie" (JOHNSTON) GIBSON (1871 - 1905) is also buried there. D.Cert. 7117 (Franklin #23) His son Hugh Johnston GIBSON (1901 - 1973) is buried in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin - Annex 3, Section A, Plot 15A.
