ARTHUR DANIELS GASKINS

   EMPORIA - A funeral service for Arthur Daniels Gaskins was conducted 
Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Echols Funeral Home, by the Rev. Roy Arnold. 
Burial was in Drewryville Cemetery.

   Pallbearers were Edward Trice, Carlton Everett, Thornton Thomas, Roy 
Covington, R.D. Claud and Peter Whitby.

   Gaskins, 51, died Thursday in Greenville Memorial Hospital.  A retired 
farmer, he was the son of the late William A. and Mrs. Susie Harris Gaskins 
and the husband of Mrs. Lois Butler Gaskins.

   He was a member and treasurer of Drewryville Ruritan Club, a member of 
the Drewryville Volunteer Fire Department and on the Board of Deacons of 
Thomas Memorial Baptist Church.

   Besides his wife, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Parks and 
Mrs. Margaret Salmon, Roanoke, and Mrs. Deliah Carter of Suffolk; four 
brothers, Ben Jr., James W., and Walter L. of Capron and Gerald C. Gaskins, 
U.S. Air Force, Japan.
