Gillette was conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Courtland Methodist Church by the Rev. Harold Fuss. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland, with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were H.H. Edwards, John W. Rollison, Edward L. Cobb, Richard E. Carter, Earl Shelton, M.R. Joyner, Dr. E.F. Reese III, and E.S. Marks., Jr. Gillette, 66, retired from Union Camp Corp., died Sunday afternoon in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin, after a short illness. He was the husband of Mrs. Marguerite Abernathy Gillette and son of Hugh A. and Mrs. Mary Fox Gillette of Courtland. A member of Courtland Methodist Church, Courtland Masonic Lodge 85, and Manry Hunt Club. He worked for Union Camp Corp. 30 years. Besides his widow, surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ryland H. Brooks and Mrs. W.T. Pittman Jr. of Courtland, and Mrs. John H. Brenner of Lynchburg; two sisters, Mrs. Harold C. McGrath of Courtland, and Mrs. Lloyd N. King of Rescue; and eight grandchildren.
