EMILY LUCILE GILLETTE

   COURTLAND - A funeral for Emily Gillette, 89, will be held today at 11 a.m. 
in Courtland United Methodist Church by the Revs. Richard L. McNutt and Bryan 
Hallstead.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.  Wright Funeral Home of 
Franklin is in charge.

   A native of Southampton County, she was a member of Courtland United 
Methodist Church.

   She was first matron of Order of the Eastern Star, Southampton County 
Chapter 68, and a charter member of the Southampton County Historical Society.

   Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

   COURTLAND - A funeral for Emily Gillette, 89, was held Thursday, at 11 a.m. 
in Courtland United Methodist Church by the Revs. Richard L. McNutt and Bryan 
Hallstead.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.  Wright Funeral Home of 
Franklin was in charge.

   Gillette died Tuesday in a hospital.

   A native of Southampton County, she was a member of Courtland United 
Methodist Church.

   She was the daughter of Joseph Lewis and Rebecca Cobb Gillette and the 
granddaughter of Major Joseph E. Gillette.

   She was first matron of Order of the Eastern Star, Southampton County 
Chapter 68, and a charter member of the Southampton County Historical Society.

   Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
