McNutt and Bryan Hallstead. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Wright Funeral Home of Franklin is in charge. A native of Southampton County, she was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church. She was first matron of Order of the Eastern Star, Southampton County Chapter 68, and a charter member of the Southampton County Historical Society. A native of Southampton County, she was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of Joseph Lewis and Rebecca Cobb Gillette and the granddaughter of Major Joseph E. Gillette. She was first matron of Order of the Eastern Star, Southampton County Chapter 68, and a charter member of the Southampton County Historical Society. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
