She was the widow of Hugh A. Gillette. She was one of the oldest active members of Courtland Methodist church and had been church treasurer. She was a charter member of Nottoway Woman’s Club. Her parents were Benjamin F. and Mrs. Fannie Powell Fox of Southampton County. Surviving are a son, B.A. Gillette of Courtland; two daughters, Mrs. L.N. King of Rescue and Mrs. Harold C. McGarth of Courtland; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Courtland Methodist Church by the Rev. Harold M. Fuss. Burial will be in Courtland Cemetery with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, in charge. The body will be in the church at 10 a.m. Thursday. Pallbearers were: John W.
