Gillette, died Sunday afternoon at Tidewater Victory Memorial Hospital, following an illness of three years. Besides her husband she is survived by a small daughter, Mary Carolyn Gillette; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S.R. Beale of Courtland; four sisters, Mrs. Eunice Bradshaw and Mrs. Willard Cooper of Franklin, Mrs. J.B. Harcum of Courtland and Mrs. Reese Whitfield of Norfolk, and one brother, G. Floyd Beale of Franklin. Services were conducted at the Holland Funeral Chapel on Second Avenue here Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock by the Rev. Kenneth E. Burke of Norfolk, assisted by the Rev. Floyd P. Davis of Courtland. "Whispering Hope" and "Asleep in Jesus" were sung by a quartette consisting of Mrs. Sallie Richardson, Mrs. F.P. Davis, Mrs. T.P. Gilbert and Mrs. C.W. Parker, accompanied by Mrs. J.H. Wade, all of Courtland. Floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. Burial was made in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland, with the following pallbearers: Lewis Gillette, Cecil Gillette, Linwood Edwards, J.B. Harcum, Ezra Gray, Fenton Gillette, Linwood Cooper and Ryland Gillette. Mary Carson (BEALE; Mrs. Percy C.)
