All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WILLIAM PERCY GILLETTE William Percy Gillette, Jr. 65, prominent farmer of the Capron community, died suddenly at his home on Thursday, June 16, after a heart attack. He had arisen from a chair to light the oil stove in his wife's bedroom when he collapsed and expired. Mr. Gillette was the husband of Mrs. Myrtle Theresa Pierce Gillette of Capron, who survives him, and the son of the late William Percy and Ella Pope Gillette of this county. He was a member of the Capron Methodist Church and the Capron Ruritan Club. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, William Benjamin Gillette and Alfred Percy Gillette, both of Capron, and Cooper Pope Gillette of Hunterdale; four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Gillette Dodson of Norfolk and Misses Kate and Mary Gillette both of Capron; and one brother, Edward F. Gillette of Suffolk. Funeral services of Mr. Gillette were conducted at the Capron Methodist Church on Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock by Rev. J.T. Cassell, pastor of the church, Rev. O.B. Newton, D.D., of Martinsville, Rev. R.H. Marks of Capron, and Rev. C. Roy Everett of Richmond. Burial was in the Capron Cemetery.
