NARCISSA W. GWALTNEY

SMITHFIELD - Narcissa "Bootie" Williams Gwaltney, 55, died Friday, Dec. 8, 
in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk.

Mrs. Gwaltney was a native of Franklin and a Smithfield resident for many 
years.  She was employed with Franklin Equipment Company as an office manager 
in the sales department.  She was member of Trinity United Methodist Church, 
Smithfield.

Survivors include her husband, Alton Hambden Gwaltney; one daughter, Wanda G. 
Wood of Richmond; two sons, David Hamilton Gwaltney of Virginia Beach and 
Alton Hambden Gwaltney Jr. of Smithfield; two brothers, Marvin W. Williams 
of Folkston, Ga., and Billy B. Williams of Franklin; and four grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in Colonial Funeral Home, 
Smithfield, by the Rev. Robert F. Cofield Jr.  Burial will be in Poplar 
Spring Cemetery, Franklin.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. this evening in the 
funeral home and requests expressions of sympathy take the form of 
contributions to Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 97, 
Smithfield, Va. 23430, or Isle of Wight County Cancer Fund, Rt. 1 Box 468, 
Walters, Va. 23481.
