ELMA IDA RAIFORD GALTRESS 

   FRANKLIN - Ida Raiford Galtress, 78, of South Main Street, died June 19, 
in a hospital.

   Mrs. Galtress was a native of Southampton County and a member of Franklin 
Baptist Church.

   Survivors include her husband, Thomas Galtress; two daughters, Burnell G. 
Fowler of Franklin and Virginia C. Darden of Courtland; two sons, Thomas 
Galtress Jr. of Franklin and Richard A. Galtress of Murfreesboro, N.C.; two 
sisters, Stella R. Raiford of Courtland and Bernice R. Eanes of Franklin; a 
brother, Timothy E. Raiford of Franklin; 10 grandchildren, and nine great-
grandchildren.

   The graveside service was held Monday in Southampton Memorial Park by the 
Revs. Michael J. Clingenpeel and Walter E. Snowa.

   Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, handled the arrangements.
