He was a native of Burdette [sic*], Va. He was the son of the late George W. and Mrs. Linda Robertson Gunn, and widower of Edna McClenny Gunn. He was a machinist for Seward Luggage Mfg. Co. He was a Baptist and an Army veteran of W.W. II. He survived by his son, Charlie L. Gunn, Jr. of Carson, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Edna Shaffer of Boykins, Va.; three brothers, Edward Gunn and Otis Gunn of Petersburg and Marvin B. Gunn of Franklin; one grandchild. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, Va., by Rev. D.O. Holland & Sons Funeral Home, by the Rev. D.O. Baggett. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park. A native of Burdette, he was a son of the late George W. and Mrs. Linda Robertson Gunn and husband of Mrs. Edna McClenny Gunn. He was a Baptist, an Army veteran of World War II and a machinist at Seward Luggage Manufacturing Co. in Petersburg. He is survived by a son, Charlie L. Gunn, Jr. of Carson; a sister, Mrs. Edna Shaffer of Boykins; three brothers, Edwin Gunn and Otis Gunn, both of Petersburg and Marvin B. Gunn of 600 Laurel St., Franklin; and one grandchild. Gertie Lillian (HARRELL) McCLENNY - the widowed grandmother of Charlie's second wife Edna - 16 Dec 1933 in Courtland. (Southampton Co. #329) George (1885 - 1949) is buried in a GUNN family cemetery in Brunswick Co. (Find a Grave Cemetery ID #2523146). Gertie (1883 - 1973) is also buried in Southampton Memorial Park - Devotion I, Plot 35.
