Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton Jr. and the Rev. William Hawkins. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Tommy Jones, Buddy Godley, Robert King, J. Lonnie Carr, Joel C. Bradshaw, Sherman McClenny, T.P. Eason and Tillman Jenkins. Mrs. Gunn died Friday at 7:40 a.m. in Southampton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Nansemond County, she was a daughter of Richard and Mrs. Sally Butler Harrell and the widow of George W. Gunn. She was a Baptist. She is survived by two sons, Hurley McClenny and Fate J. McClenny of Carrsville; a daughter, Mrs. Ada Warren of Franklin; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ella Shaffer of Boykins; four step-sons: Marvin Gunn of Franklin, Otis Gunn, Edwin Gunn, Charley Gunn of Petersburg; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
