Joseph L. McTeer and the Rev. Donald E. Trump. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park with W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, in charge. Pallbearers were P.B. Butler, George Parker, Jack Carr, Gilmer Parker, Delmar Carr, William Rose, Cliff Carr and John T. Carr. Gray, 73, of Route 1 died Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin, after a brief illness. A native of Como, N.C., he lived in this area 13 years and formerly in Norfolk. He was the husband of Mrs. Vivian Lankford Gray and a son of Henry Clay and Mrs. Sarah Atkins Gray. He was a retired pipefitter of Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Colosse Baptist Church, Willie Lee Pythian Lodge 119 of South Norfolk, Ziyad Temple 28 of Knights of Khorassan, and 29th Division Association. He was an Army veteran of World War I. Besides his widow, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Helen Gray Williams of Salem, Ind.; a son Emmett Ray Gray of Falls Church; a sister, Mrs. Eddie Vick of Seaford; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
