FLETCHER GRAY Norman Fletcher Gray, Sr. 75, of Newport News died in Mary Immaculate Hospital in that city on Tuesday May 14, after an illness of one week. A native of Southampton County, for the past 25 years he had resided in Newport News, where he was a building contractor. He was the son of the late Richard D. and Sarah Sanford Gray. He was a member of the Boykins Baptist Church, a York Rite Mason, and a member of the Peninsula Association of Building Contractors. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Doris Vick Gray; a daughter Mrs. B.W. Hogge of Hornsbyville, York County; six sons, Norman F. Jr. of Hampton and Gerald F., Kenneth R., Preston A., Richard M., and R. Wayne Gray, all of Newport News; three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Britton of Conway, N.C., and Mrs. Lina G. Williams and Miss Cora Gray both of Boykins, a brother Eugene A. Gray of Norfolk; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted in the Boykins Baptist Church on Thursday afternoon by the pastor, Rev. Ben B. Ussery assisted by Rev. William S. Ferguson, pastor of the Boykins Methodist Church. Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dr. J.M. Bland, John M. Britt, S.J. Wilson, W.F.
