Gray of Franklin, died Sunday morning in the Norfolk General Hospital after an illness of a few weeks. Mrs. Gray was the daughter of Mrs. Virginia Daughtrey Cooper, of Franklin, and the late W.F. Cooper. She was a consistent member of the Congregational Christian Church, serving as superintendent of the Primary Department of this Sunday school for the past 28 years, resigning last year due to ill health. Beside her husband and mother, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. L.E. Bassett and Mrs. J.L. Gillette, both of Franklin, and a number of nieces and one nephew. Funeral services were held from her late residence in Clay Street Monday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock with services conducted by her pastor, Rev. Wm. T. Scott, assisted by Rev. R.D. Stephenson. Burial was made in the family plot in Poplar Spring Cemetery, the pallbearers being: A.P. Ratliff, L.B. Norfleet, K.M. Pillow, W.G. Atkins, J. Letcher Eley, Story Cutchin, Joe Johnson and Paul B.
