Mrs. Gray was born in Newsoms, a daughter of the late David and Lou Barnes Newsome. She was the widow of Roy Lee Gray Sr. and a long time member of Hunterdale United Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce G. Sipiczky and her husband, Andrew, of Courtland, Phyllis G. Blythe and her husband, David, of Franklin; a son, Roy Lee Gray Jr. and his wife, Shelby, of Newsoms; three grandchildren, Roy Lee Gray III, Kathy G. Holt, David W. Gray; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by a brother, David Henry Newsome, and a number of half brothers and sisters. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and suggests that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1290 Seminole Trail, Suite 2, Charlottesville, VA 22901, or Hunterdale United Church of Christ, 741 Hunterdale Road, Franklin, VA 23851.
