All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ HENRY MAURICE* GRAY Henry Morris* Gray, 51, lifelong and highly esteemed citizen of Boykins, died at Raiford Memorial Hospital, Franklin, Saturday morning, July 1, after an illness of three weeks. He was the son of the late Henry Lewis and Mrs. Mobray Caroon Gray. Since childhood he had been a faithful and consistent member of Boykins Baptist Church, and he was a member of Boykins Baptist Church, and he was a member of the Berean Bible Class. He is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Helen Rock of Boykins; Mrs. Waverly W. Nurney of Courtland, and Mrs. Wallace C. Nurney of Capron; also by one brother, William Eddie Gray of Norfolk, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the residence Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock with his pastor, Dr. R.A. Helton, officiating. The combined choirs of the Boykins Baptist and Methodist churches sang "Abide with Me" and "Sometime We’ll Understand." Burial was in the family plot in Beechwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were R.C. Knight, John M. Britt, W. Hugh Powell, Sr., Dr. J.M. Bland, L.E. Worrell, S.J. Wilson, and Richard Ricks. Honorary pallbearers were members of his Sunday school class.
