Gray of Franklin, died in the Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk, on Wednesday, May 7, after an illness of several weeks. She was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Mary Stakes of Isle of Wight County, a member of the Franklin Baptist Church, and a lifelong resident of the Franklin community. Besides her husband, Mrs. Gray is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Margaret G. Hand of Newport News, Mrs. Blanche G. Parker of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Mrs. Thelma G. Faison of Franklin; three sons, Murden Grey of Winston- Salem, N.C., Charles R. Gray of Richmond, and Reuben L. Gray, Jr., USAF, Shaw Field, S.C.; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Ola S. Gray of Norfolk. Funeral services for Mrs. Gray will be held this (Friday) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons, with Revs. Ira D. Hudgins and R.D. Stephenson officiating.
