A lifelong resident of Franklin, he was a son of Riddick and Mrs. Addie Crutchlow Gray and the husband of Mrs. Pearl Bobbitt Gray. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World Lodge 18. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert S. Gray, Jr. of Red Bank, N.J.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Helen Marshall of Franklin; a brother, Fenton C. Gray of Richmond; a sister, Mrs. Eva Watson of Texas; and two step- grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Active pallbearers were S.A. Carr, William Duffy, William Francis, Joseph Fowler, Frederick Jones, Charles Farmer, Jack W. Holland, Herman Harcum, Ray Butler and Carroll Scott.
