All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARY REBECCA FERGUSON GRAY Mrs. Mary Rebecca Ferguson Gray, 60, wife of Richmond [sic; Richard] Percy Gray of the Newsoms community, died in Raiford Memorial Hospital on Sunday afternoon, September 14, after a short illness. The deceased was a member of the Newsoms Baptist Church for many years. She is survived by her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Gray Ferguson and Mrs. Nellie Gray Hill of Newsoms, Mrs. Lucille Gray Cyrus of Norfolk, and Mrs. Edith Gray Forrest of Suffolk; four sons, Edward Gray of Norfolk, Clyde Gray of Newsoms, Thomas Gray of Windsor, and Hubert Gray of Emporia; and 17 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the Newsoms Baptist Church by the pastor, Rev. R.L. Chadwick, assisted by Rev. R.B. Moore. Interment was in the Newsoms Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Julian Carter, Billie Ferguson, James Ferguson, Quinton Ferguson, Russell Ferguson, Hugh Gray, Carl Thorpe and John Worrell.
