GRIFFIN Estelle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. [sic*] Griffin, died February 15, 1921, after a few weeks illness with typhoid fever, at her home near Capron. She was a very promising girl of sixteen years. In her home, among her schoolmates and in her Sunday school she ever strove to do her duty and to make the most of every opportunity for service. She will be missed wherever she was known and loved, for her cheerfulness, kindness and Christian courage to do the right. Estelle T. GRIFFIN, daughter of Norfleet E. & M. "Fannie" (POPE) GRIFFIN, b. 25 Mar 1904, d. 15 Feb 1921, at home, near Capron, interred near Capron*, 16 Feb 1921, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), Mar. 4, 1921, p. 3 *Additional information: D.Cert. 4503 (Newsoms #7) gives dt/o Norfleet & Fannie (Pope) Griffin. Her mother, Melissa Frances "Fannie" (POPE) GRIFFIN, d. 6 Nov 1931, and was buried in a Pope Cemetery. Added to the POPE family cemetery, Friday Artis Rd. (Rt. 657); Fannie's father Lemuel POPE is the only grave marked.
