All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ HARVEY FOUNTAIN GRIFFIN Harvey Fountain Griffin, 29, a former resident of Capron, died in Jacksonville, Fla., on Saturday night, February 15, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was the son of Henry P. and Mrs. Cornelia Nixon Griffin, formerly of Capron, who moved to Florida about five years ago to make their home in that state. An automobile mechanic, the deceased was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Portsmouth. Surviving are two brothers, Alex B. Griffin of Jacksonville, Fla., and George Griffin, USAF, Long Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. R.H. Ames and Misses Grace and Viola Griffin, all of Jacksonville; and a niece, Miss Theresa Ames of Jacksonville. The body arrived in Franklin on Monday morning and was taken to the funeral home of W.J.M. Holland & Sons, where services were held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon. Rev. William W. Stennett, pastor of the Capron Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in Capron Cemetery. Pallbearers were Edward Crichton, Fletcher Crichton, James Daughtrey, Joe Henry Joyner, Walter Joyner, A.L. Pope, Alex Steinhardt and W.H. Story.
