Griffin James Harvey Griffin, 80, of Boykins, died Thursday in Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin. He was a native of Speer's Ferry, Va., and the husband of the late Mrs. Lizzie Felts Griffin. He was a retired farmer. He was a member and life deacon of Boykins Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Wanda Jean Edwards; two sons, T.R. Griffin and James F. Griffin, all of Boykins; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral was held Saturday at 3 p.m. in Beechwood Cemetery in Boykins, by the Rev. G. Durham Ipock. The family asks that flowers to omitted and memorial donations be made to the Boykins Volunteer Rescue Squad or Boykins Baptist Church. McDowell Funeral Home in Boykins was in charge.
