He was the husband of Mrs. Gertie Coggsdale Griffin and a son of Joseph and Mrs. Mary Barnes Griffin. He was a native of Southampton County and a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. Surviving, besides his widow and son, are a sister, Mrs. Dallas Suyes of Capron, and two grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Thomas Mabe of Sycamore Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are: Joe Griffin, Nurney Whitley, Hunter Darden, Sr., Pat Cotton, Homer Holland, George Burgess, Billy Burgess, J.O.
