Mrs. A.P. Minshew, near Boykins. He leaves a wife and four children and six grandchildren, two sisters and a number of other relatives and friends. His children are Mrs. J.D. Ward of Battleboro, N.C., Mrs. A.P. Minshew, Miss Lizzie Griffin and Mr. J.E. Griffin of Boykins. He was married November 2nd, 1871, to Miss Sarah E. Whitehead of Scotland Neck, N.C. He had been in declining health for over 10 years, but the last six months he had been a great sufferer, having been in bed the most of the time for the last three months. His case seemed to puzzle the physicians in charge and although he went to the hospital and received the best of medical aid there and at home, it seemed that death was his only relief. All that loving hands and hearts could do was done for him yet it all railed to give relief. He said during his last days that he had suffered so much that life held no charms for him and he was anxiously awaiting the end. A few hours before his death he was asked if he was ready and williag to go, he said yes I have made it alright and now I am only waiting. He hourly thanked those attending him for their kindness to him and often said you all have been faithful, you have done all you can.
