He was the husband of Mrs. Jennie Scott Grissom; he was a member of the Courtland Baptist Church, Sunday School teacher for many years; member of the Board of Trustees and former deacon; he was a member of the Courtland Ruritan Club; and served many years on the Advisory Board of Southern States Coop.; and was a prominent farmer. Surviving besides his wife, is one daughter, Mrs. Mary Grissom Asacraft of Cheraw, S.C.; one son, Edward Scott Grissom of Courtland; two brothers, J.L. Grissom of Courtland , R.E. Grissom of Chesapeake; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie H. Baker and Mrs. Adeline Kitchen, both of Courtland, Mrs. Cornelis G. Gordon of Rocky Mount, N.C.; four grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 3 P.M. graveside at Riverside Cemetery by the Rev. Edmund Ellis and the Rev. Norman Blythe. Arrangements by the Wright Funeral Home.
