William O. Hudson and the Rev. Roy Arnold. Burial with Masonic rites was in Greensville Memorial Cemetery, Emporia. Pallbearers were Edward Grizzard, Franklin Grizzard, John Smith, Charles P. Rawls, Wayne Mitchell, Louis Hobbs, FitzHugh Woodard, and Elmer Matthews. Grizzard, 52, died Friday in his home. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of John T. and Mrs. Ethel Harrison Grizzard and the husband of Mrs. Hazel Faison Grizzard. He was a member of Person Methodist Church and a retired guard of Southampton Correctional Farm. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Harvell of Petersburg; a son, Amos P. Grizzard Jr. of Courtland; a sister, Mrs. A.E. Cobb of Drewryville; a brother, Thomas J. Grizzard of Richmond; and two grandchildren.
