DR. JOSHUA JACK GRIZZARD 

   BRANCHVILLE - A funeral service for Dr. Joshua Jack Grizzard, 72, was held 
Tuesday at 1:30 in his home by the Rev. J. Blaine Blubaugh.  Burial was in 
Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, with McDowell Funeral Home in charge.

   Pallbearers were: Louis Jordan, Harold Futrell, B.C. Edwards, Roy Cleek 
Jr., Linton W. Grizzard, Tommy Grizzard, Pete Grizzard, and Dr. J.W. Lambdin.

   Grizzard died Sunday in a Norfolk hospital.

   A native of Branchville, he was the husband of Mrs. Corinne Cleek Grizzard.

   He had practiced medicine in the area of 49 years.

   He was educated at the College of William and Mary and the Medical College 
of Virginia.  After World War II he received a special award of merit form 
the U.S. Government for service that he rendered during the war.

   He was a member of Boykins United Methodist Church, the Virginia Medical 
Society, and Seaboard Surgeons' Association.

   Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Gwendolyn B. Vick of Courtland; 
two sons, the Rev. Jack Cleek Grizzard of Alexandria and Richard Crawford 
Grizzard of Boykins; three brothers; Wilbert V. Grizzard of Lynchburg, Thomas 
M. Grizzard and Linton W. Grizzard of Branchville; and seven grandchildren.
