Gardner FRANKLIN - Albutt Lorian Gardner, 56, husband of Mrs. Ruby Joyner Gardner, died here Thursday afternoon. A Franklin resident for 38 years, he was a son of the late William N. and Mrs. Martha Woodard Gardner of Nansemond County. He was employed by Union Bag-Camp Paper Corp. and was a member of Franklin Baptist Church, Pythian Lodge and Woodmen of the World. Other survivors are three sons, A. L. Gardner Jr. of Mainistee, Mich., Warren J. Gardner of Lawrenceville and Norman L. Gardner of Franklin; two daughters, Mrs. E. Jane Maddrey and Mrs. George L. Story* and two brothers, T. N. Gardner and W. N. Gardner, all of Norfolk; four sisters, Mrs. Garland Cake and Mrs. Kenneth Stone of Norfolk, Mrs. W. L. Tomlinson of Amelia, and Mrs. T. E. Kwast of Benton Harbor, Mich.; and 10 grandchildren. The body was taken to W. J. M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted in Franklin Baptist Church Sunday at 2 p.m., with burial in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
