R.D. Stephenson officiating. Mrs. H.G. Cobb sang "Asleep in Jesus." Besides his parents he is survived by two sisters, Effie Jane and Ruby Mae Gardner; two brothers, A.L. Gardner, Jr. and Warren Joyner Gardner, and his grandparents. Active pallbearers were Ernest, Amos and Lonza Joyner and W.N. Gardner, Jr. Edward Calvin GARDNER, infant son of A.L. & Ruby B. (JOYNER) GARDNER, d. 22 Jun 1934, age 4 months, interred in Poplar Spring Cemetery (Section 2, Plot 77A*), Franklin, 25 Jun 1934, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), June 29, 1934, p. 5 *The cemetery list gives his father's name as Albutt Lorain GARDNER.
