Gardner, one of the oldest residents of Sedley, died Wednesday morning at his home after an illness of about a year. He was 88 years old. Mr. Gardner was the son of the late John Arrington and Margaret Barrett Gardner of this county. He is survived by a son, Tommie D. Gardner of Capron, a daughter, Miss Anna Gardner of Sedley, and a brother, Willie Gardner, of Sedley. Services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the grave in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley, by Dr. Elwood W. Jones of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church. Pallbearers were W.E. Joyner, R.L. Nicholson, Russell Owen, W.H. Drewry, L.L. Bradshaw, J.D. Owen, T.F. Hundley and Elton McClenny.
