All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ KATE WILLS GARDNER Mrs. Kate Wills Gardner, age 72, former resident of Berlin, died at her home in Courtland Saturday, June 2, after a long illness. She was the widow of John Wesley Gardner and daughter of the late John and Mrs. Mary Bristow Wills. Surviving her are two daughters, Miss Arleen Gardner and Mrs. T.B. Bell of Courtland; one sons, Archie R. Gardner, of Ivor; one granddaughter, Katherine Bell, of Courtland; two sisters, Mrs. Geo. H. Beale and Mrs. J.B. Beale, of Franklin and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 4:30 o'clock at the home by Rev. Percy D. White, pastor of Courtland Methodist Church, and burial following in the Courtland Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: N.W. Wills, O.M. Joyner, E.V. Stephenson, Roy Stephenson, Raby Cornwell, A.B. Cobb, Junius W. Pulley and W.A. Bell. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family. "Katie" Katherine E. (WILLS; Mrs. John W.)
