Gardner, age 26 years, died at the home of her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. A.P. Marks, of the Capron community Friday morning after an illness of the last few years from paralysis. She was not only a patient sufferer but a thoroughly consecrated Christian woman. Whenever health permitted she was a regular attendant to the services of her church. Funeral services were conducted from the home Saturday afternoon, in the presence of an unusually large crowd of loved ones and friends, by the Rev. A. McK. Reynolds of Franklin in the absence of her pastor, Rev. Clifford Ramsey. Two of her favorite songs, "Saved By Grace" and "Sometime We’ll Understand" were sung by Mrs. L.W. McGrath, Mrs. C.G. Johnson and Mrs. H.L. Bain. She was laid to rest in the Capron Cemetery. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. Besides her parents she is survived by her husband, several sisters and brothers and a number of nieces and nephews. [Bettie Louise (MARKS; Mrs. Tommie D.)
