FRANCES B. GARRENTON

   Frances B. Garrenton, 31, a former resident of this town, where she was 
well-known, died Thursday morning, May 19, in Richmond following an illness of 
several months.  Miss Garrenton was the daughter of the late Burfoot B. and 
Frances Hurst Garrenton, her father dying about a month ago*.  She was a 
graduate of Franklin High School and of the nurses’ class of 1930 of Grace 
Hospital, Richmond.

   She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. J.C. Ireton and Miss Alice Garrenton 
of Tazewell and Miss Mary Garrenton of Franklin.  Services were conducted last 
Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Emmanuel Episcopal Church with the rector, 
Rev. Frederick Sapp, officiating.  Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. 
Pallbearers were Paul Carr, Tall Jones, J.W.B. Thompson, George Watkins, A.G. 
Hardy and Jesse Weede.
