J.W. Horne. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken from the Purviance Funeral Home to the church at 1:30. Mr. Garner, 62, died in his home near Ivor, Wednesday morning after an illness of three years. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a son of William W. and Mrs. Molly Gwaltney Garner. A retired farmer of Southampton County, he was the widower of Mrs. Ethel Saunders Garner. He was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Hazel D. Joyner and Miss Rose Marie Garner of Ivor and Mrs. Evelyn R. Tettertom of Smithfield; two brothers, John T. Garner of Petersburg and Wesley E. Garner of Ivor; a sister, Mary Lucy Parkinson of Raleigh; and three grandchildren.
