The deceased was the wife of Callie Garner of Ivor and daughter of the late G.W.L. and Mary Frances Hall Saunders of Southampton County. She was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. In addition to her husband she is survived by three daughters, Misses Evelyn Ray Garner and Rose Marie Garner and Mrs. Hazel Joyner, all of Ivor; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Homer Cook and Mrs. Robert Cook of Surry and Mrs. P.L. Britt of Ivor; three brothers, Allen Saunders of Handsom, Clyde Saunders of Windsor, and Edward Saunders of Suffolk; one half-sister, Mrs. Tom Eure of Suffolk; and two half-brothers, George Saunders of Smithfield and Ray Saunders of Windsor. Funeral services were held at Tucker Swamp Baptist Church on Wednesday afternoon, May 21, at 2:30 o’clock, with Rev. J. Sidney Cobb of Windsor officiating.
