Hayes, wife of W.H. Hayes, of Burdette, Va., died this morning at 10 o'clock at a local hospital after a lingering illness. Besides her husband she is survived by eight children, Mrs. Leonard Powell, of Windsor, Va.; Miss Honehtea [sic; Boneither] Hayes, Miss Ocie Hayes, of Burdette, Va., and Horace Hayes, Willie Newman Hayes, Cleveland Hayes, Thomas Hayes, all of Burdette, Va. The funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence in Burdette, conducted by the Rev. Welch. Interment will be in the family cemetery. ****************************************************************************** Conduct Funeral of Mrs. Hayes at Home The funeral services of Mrs. Evie D. Hayes were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence in Burdette, Va., by the Rev. R.P. Welch. Active Pallbearers were E.A. West, E.A. Drewry, W.J. Fowler, Thomas Warren, R.F. (#149) gives daughter of Jack & Barbary WHITE, m. age 23. They appear in the 1920 Census in Chuckatuck Dist., Nansemond Co., on Farm #275.
