All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ RAYMOND CUTCHIN HAYES Raymond Cutchin Hayes, 49, well-known lifelong resident of Franklin, died at his home on Fontaine Street on Monday, August 8, at noon, following a heart attack. Mr. Hayes was an employee of the Town of Franklin, having served as stockroom clerk for about a month. He was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church and of the Bruner Bible Class. He was the son of the late Albert Woodville and Sarah Lavinia Cutchin Hayes of Franklin. Surviving him are one sister, Miss Mabel Lee Hayes of Franklin, and one niece, Mrs. Myrtis Hayes Midkiff of Suffolk. The body was taken to the funeral home of W.J.M. Holland & Sons, where funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. by Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of the Franklin Baptist Church, and Rev. R.D. Stephenson, retired pastor. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Herbert Edwards, Joe Bynum Gay, Jr., Carlton Cutchin, Leonidas Cutchins, Charlie Crumpler, Jack Story, Roy Edwards and George Warren Conwell.
