SUE PARKER HAYES Mrs. Sue Parker Hayes, 67, a long-time resident of Franklin, died suddenly Monday afternoon, April 16, at her home on Clay Street after suffering a heart attack. Mrs. Hayes was the widow of George R. Hayes, who for many years was connected with the Jones-Hayes Company. She was the daughter of the late George Henry and Annie Greenhow Parker of Isle of Wight County, and was a member of High Street Methodist Church and the Woman's Society of Christian Service. She also took an active interest in various civic enterprises. Surviving her are a brother, George H. Parker of Franklin; four nieces, Miss Antionette Parker and Mrs. S.F. Winiker, Jr. both of Danville, and Mrs. Nell C. Norfleet and Mrs. Frances P. Bradford of Franklin; and two nephews, George Frederick Cotton of Norfolk and George Hinson Parker, Jr., of Franklin. Last rites were conducted at the residence on Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock by Rev. Elmer N. Hassell, pastor of High Street Methodist Church, followed by interment in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Active pallbearers were George Frederick Cotton, Dr. L.W. Lambdin, Charles E. Morgan, Dr. T.A. Morgan, W.H. Norfleet, Jr., G.H. Parker, Jr., John C. Parker, and S.F.
