Holland and Sons Funeral Home for Charles Edward Hughes, 66, of Handsom. Services were conducted by Rev. Hiram L. Harrison. Pallbearers were J.C. Johnson, Linwood Vann, James Vann, Delbert Whitehead, Walter Bishop, and James Johnson. A native of Yeager, Kentucky, he was a son of James and Mrs. Frankey Tackett Hughes and the husband of Mrs. Lillian Vann Hughes. He was a retired employee of the Naval Supply Center and a member of Ocean View Baptist Church. Besides his wife he is survived by 3 daughters; Mrs. Barbara Ann Bowersock, Pikeville, Ky., Mrs. Patricia Lou Zumpl, Richmond, Mrs. E.T. Johnson Jr., Franklin; 1 son; Lewis Allen Parker Jr., Wilmington, Del., 3 sisters; Mrs. Dellia Whitt and Mrs. Louise Hobbs, Pikesville, Ky., Mrs. Myrtle Howard, Betsy Layne, Ky.; 3 brothers; Arthur Hughes, Pressonburg, Ky., William K. Hughes, and Abel Hughes of Pikesville, Ky., and 7 grandchildren. Burial was in Mt. Horeb Church Cemetery.
